Depending on the fit style (slim, classical, etc.), most clients have around 10-15 pounds of weight loss or gain before garments need to be tailored. We always recommend collecting measurements based on your current weight during the first fitting. Typically custom garments have about 20-30 pounds of weight loss or gain before something net new will need to be ordered.
Our standard ordering process is 4-6 weeks before arrival. We do our best to communicate accurate lead times but we also extend a disclaimer that there are possible instances where fabric stock availability or shipping delays occur. It is possible to rush garment orders to 3-4 weeks with a rush fee. Please communicate important deadlines with your Consultant during your appointment.
The majority of custom made suits, pants, vests, jackets, and overcoats are wool. We recommend dry cleaning (sparingly) all wool garments and other fabrics like cotton, cashmere, silk, polyester, and more. Custom shirts and blouses (90-100% cotton) may be washed at home on a delicate or hand-wash setting in cold water. To avoid shrinkage, we highly recommend that shirts be air-dried.
Although we love to see our clients in person and catch up, you are not required to visit a location AFTER your first fitting. Your fit profile will be saved for all future orders and we always ask how your most recent custom garment is fitting before ordering your next garment. We're happy to provide an Online Consultation for returning clients where we can connect via phone call or Zoom.
